How to Make $314 million profit on a $1 million Investment

Arianna Huffington co-founded the Huffington Post six years ago. It was supposed to be a vehicle for Arianna and like-minded people to share their political points of view. It was envisioned to reach a lot of people. Arianna herself admits that while they had big plans for the HuffPost, the founders never imagined to reach the level of success it achieved: 128 on Alexa ranking, 250 million global users, over 200,000 Facebook fans, to over 800,000 followers on Twitter.

Today, Huffington Post was purchased by AOL for $300 million in cash and $15 million in stock. Not bad for $1 million investment. All you need is great content, being one of the first blogs to employ celebrity bloggers and to create links to Facebook and Twitter and my favorites: persistence and perseverance. Congratulations!
