Facebook introduces new messaging service

There is no secret that Facebook and Google are at war with each other. One is trying to get into the social networking space, the other into the search business. The big carrot: the estimated $26 billion of online ads.

Facebook seems to have won another battle by introducing a new messaging service. The service allows its users to communicate with their Facebook friends as well as with people outside the Facebook network. It also allows people to use multiple types of communication: email, SMS delivered either to your computer or your phone.
