Sharing the Spotlight: Budding Up with Big Companies

According to a survey released by American Express, over 40% of business owners said that they have reduced their advertising budget. Yet, some business owners have found a way to increase their presence by partnering with larger firms.

One such example is a small barbershop that partnered with a larger, local brewery. The ad shows a customer getting a haircut and holding a beer.

While not everybody can have access to recognizable names such as Apple or Nike, you can start by partnering with larger local companies. This accomplishes two things:

  1. It gives you the exposure you need for little or no money;
  2. It portraits the larger company as a "protector" of smaller companies and not as a "detractor".
Here are few companies who successfully partner with larger ones.
