Unconventional Business Planning
I came across a Rene Descartes quote recently, :"Divide each difficulty into as many parts as feasible and necessary to solve it". Simple and true. Except, we tend to forget that the proverbial elephant can be eaten - one bite at the time.
There are a lot of planning tools out there intended to help us achieve the impossible. On Lifehacker , which is an awesome site focused on finding shortcuts for all of our daily life activities, I came across couple that are not your typical GTD.
David Seah devised an unconventional business planning system. The idea is not to get bugged down by conventional talk or scary-looking planning tools. His are fun and uncorporate, if such word exist. All documents can be edited. There is even a version for those who prefer the 3x5 card system. There are three Concrete Goal Tracker forms:
If you consider these ones too complicated, here is an even more simplified version. The form is from WhiteHatBlackBox and it is simply called "Refocus". The idea is to keep everything very simple. Daryl Furuyama, the author of the Refocus form, is right: simple is better. (For those who have more than 5 objectives to track, he offers an extended version .
