Overnight Success,,,In 297 Days
I came across an interesting document: 297 Days to Overnight Success . The author, Chris Guillebeau, is an entrepreneur, blogger, writer, and world traveler. After spending 4 years in Africa as a volunteer, he came back to the States, got his Masters degree in International Studies, started couple of businesses, and then decided to become a full time writer. All these, while he was traveling around the world in a quest to visit all countries by the time he turns 35. (He is now at 117 and counting).
The document gives a quick outline of what one needs to do to achieve success in the world of 21st Century writing. That means blogging, commenting, guest-editing, and the most priced one: the BOOK. The 297-day time frame is a bit deceiving. While this was indeed how long it took Chris to reach some measurable of success, this is by any means the real time. All the 297 days did was to leverage his awesome experience living on all four corners of the world, the knowledge about people and places, about what works and what doesn't in the current environment.
While building online presence and following might take only 297 days, gaining the knowledge and experience to share during the 297 and beyond, take a lot more - a whole lifetime. Just ask Chris.
