Five Reasons To Be Terrified of Google's Wave

Google Wave is supposed to change the way we communicate. Here are some highlights of its capabilities:
  • Real-time - as freaky as might sound, you can see what someone else is typing, character-by-character. Big Brother anyone?
  • Embed-ability - waves can be embedded on any blogs or websites.
  • Applications and extensions - you can create any applications from bots to complex real-time games.
  • Wiki functionality - anything written with the Wave can be edited by someone else.
  • Open source - its code will be open source.
  • Playback - you can playback any part of the wave to see what was said.
  • Natural language - it can correct your spelling and will know the differences between similar words like "been" and "bean". It can also translate instantaneously.
  • Drag and drop file sharing - no attachments required any longer.
